FAQs

General Questions

What's Included in my $29/month membership?

Your membership gives you access to reduced-price doctor and nutritionist appointments (1/2 the cost of the industry average) and resources including Remission University and all our functional protocols.

You’ll be able to establish a long-term relationship with a doctor and connected, continuous care, with the flexibility to book appointments when needed.

Is Wisdom Available Anywhere?

Yep! We have doctors all over the country, and can facilitate you getting testing at labs in any location in the US.

Do you take Insurance or an HSA/FSA?

Every patient is different, but if you have out-of-network health insurance, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement from your insurance. Many of our members receive as much as 70% of our services reimbursed.

We can help match you with a doctor that accepts payment from an HSA/FSA.

Is Wisdom Primary Care?

Wisdom doctors can currently operate as Primary Care providers in Oregon and California. We can still help clients in other states in a consulting role. That means we can’t write prescriptions, offer referrals, or use insurance. This is not an issue for most clients as our practitioners use exclusively lifestyle medicine and natural approaches to disease reversal.

What is Wisdom’s Medical Care Philosophy?

Wisdom was founded to dramatically improve care for patients with chronic conditions. Our medical care regimens include both conventional and holistic treatments. We believe treatment for chronic conditions should be driven by lifestyle changes first, holistic treatments & herbal supplements second, and medications last.

We believe healing tends to happen when you approach it like an exciting new undertaking to dramatically improve your health in all areas. We’re here to fill in all the gaps that prevent you from doing that.

We’re not one of those old, boring medical companies; quite the opposite in fact. We are led by young, mindful leaders and guided by deeply experienced doctors who’ve seen it all before. We believe you should leave feeling better, more inspired, and more clear every time you see one of our doctors.

What if I need to go to the hospital?

Our doctors work with hospitals in most cities, and we can help coordinate care as needed. If you need to visit the hospital, your doctor can transfer all your medical records to that hospital, so your provider can review all your tests and health history.

Wisdom Services & Care

What kind of doctors does Wisdom have?

We have a full range of primary care doctors, including both traditional Medical Doctors (MDs), and Naturopathic Doctors (NDs). Our doctors cover all aspects of primary care for chronic conditions and include a variety of holistic and integrative treatment options as well.

What is a Naturopathic Doctor, and how are they different from a traditional doctor?

Many people don’t know this, but Naturopathic Doctors are doctors who can diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications just like a conventional doctor. They are trained in all aspects of primary care, just like an MD.

Do you offer virtual visits and Telemedicine?

Yes, absolutely! Our doctors fully embrace telemedicine and remote visits using Zoom. If you start an Integrative Healing Package with your doctor, you’ll likely have regular Zoom check-ins every 2 weeks with a health coach.

If you’d like to visit a doctor in person, most of our doctors are currently located in Portland, Oregon.

What should I expect for my health plan?

After your initial visit and diagnosis, your doctor will start all our patients on a long-term (3-12 month) integrative health plan. These include advanced testing, diet, lifestyle & movement regimens, herbal medicine & supplements, and conventional meds (if needed).

As you work with your doctor, you’ll receive support from an Integrative Health Advisors every 2 weeks as you implement your regimen. You’ll also have email and phone access to your doctor whenever needed.

How does my Wisdom doctor fit in with my Primary Care Doctor?

We recommend all clients have a primary care provider to work in tandem, as our practitioners typically do not prescribe medication. If you already have a primary care doctor, your Wisdom doctor can collaborate with your current doctor to help you with a chronic condition. In addition to working with Wisdom, we recommend our patients have a relationship with a local Urgent Care facility for routine medical needs.

How Do I get lab work done?

Getting advanced labs & testing is an important part of our treatment plans. There’s a few ways you can order tests, depending on the type of test. Some tests, like biome tests, can be done from home while others, like blood tests, require you to go to a nearby lab. We partner with labs that have locations in every city in the US.
